Thank you for your interest in joining the Board of Directors for the Beautiful Joe Heritage Society. Our Board of Directors is operations and event driven – we are hands on in the day-to-day operation of the society. In addition to governance, Board Members are responsible for carrying out operational directives as outlined by the Board of Directors, and will be assigned tasks and responsibilities that are critical to the implementation of the organization’s mission.

Which of your skills would you like to utilize on the Board? Check all those that apply:
Agree that you can provide at least 2-4 hours a month to attend Board and Committee meetings
Agree that you can provide at least 2-3 hours a month to participate in activities directed by the Board of Directors including but not limited to: participation in events, leading tours, fundraising initiatives, administration, etc. There may be an increase in monthly time requirements based on seasonality due to increase from April thru September for community events.
Agree to attend 3 board meetings in advance of being invited to join the board.
  1. Individual who is 18 years of age or older, unless youth representation is sought
  2. Individual must have a strong belief in and commitment to the enhanced development, growth and future capacity of Beautiful Joe Heritage Society as an important cultural legacy and tourist destination
  3. Individual must be prepared to function as a Board member at both a strategic level and related to operational participation in the organization
  4. Individual must be prepared to fulfill the Director's role as a volunteer with no compensation
  5. Individual must be able to contribute the time necessary to fulfill the Director's role, as well as other committee, community development and related roles that may emerge from the organization’s strategic plan, annual work programs, etc.
  6. Individual must be prepared to represent the organization, both within and outside the community, at various forums or broader based industry initiatives
  7. Individual must fully accept the governing by-laws of the organization
  8. Individual must commit to fulfill a minimum 1-year term of office as a Board of Director member
  9. Individual must possess evident capacity and express potential interest by some prospective Board member candidates to hold Board leadership positions in the future (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer)
  10. Individual must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment that builds on consensus and represents a diverse industry and their multitude of interests and needs
  11. There must be evidence the individual has adequate time available to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of a Board member
